Forgotten how mid-sleeper comes apart

Hello again...
Im changing the kids room around, got halfway through taking apart a mid sleeper but can't figure out how the slats come out of the sides. Its this bed:
https://www.tesco.com/direct/mika-midsleeper-metal-bed-frame-with-blue-tent/205-6983.prd?skuId=205-6983&pageLevel=sku&sc_cmp=ppc*PX+-+Home*PX+-+Shopping+GSC+-+Generic+-+Indoor+Furniture*PRODUCT+GROUP205-6983*&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzoe48eqz1QIV7bvtCh2EmwhVEAQYASABEgKLRvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&source=others
So, Ive undone all the screws, but the slats are still somehow attached to the sides. A couple of the slats are joined by a crosswise tube of metal. And some of the others have a hole at the end, and I can see thin metal rods inside [can be seen in one of the pics in the link]. I vaguely remember putting it together was a bit awkward but cant remember what these rod things inside the poles are for. They must be some kind of tension thing, but I dont know. The bed is too big to drag downstairs as it is, so I need to get it apart completely, and ideally without breaking it.
Any thoughts?
