I have been using mine but the readings seem a bit low.

sony crt tv for 2 weeks. on for 4 hours per day. standby rest of time. 3kwh
5 hour panasonic breadmaker cycle. 0.52kwh
    full kettle. 0.16kwh

Does that sound about right? If yes then these items are pretty cheap to run.

I also love that the monitor has a battery so it retains its reading if you unplug it :)

    That seems about right.

Standby consumption on TVs is normally tiny. For my 32" Sony CRT it is 0.6 watts. So if your is the same, for the 2 weeks on standby it would consume 0.168kWh(i.e. between 1p and 2p)

Assuming your kettle is 3kW it would take 3min 12 sec to boil when full.

Aldi and Lidl seem to sell them every few months - Maplin as well all the time, more expensive but sometimes on offer.

They take LR44 or RW82 batteries.

..a quid each in local Bobs. Needs two.

    edit......Tescos own £1.27 for 2.

OMG my washing machine uses 0.7kwh per wash (40'C & it is a hot and cold feed machine!). That is so much more than my tv/microwave/breadmaker!
