applying for credit card help

hi i am looking to apply for 1 or 2 credit cards i have done mse credit club says i am 954 - good category.

i had defaulted about 15 years ago they do not appear on my credit file.

i have had no credit since then kept away from them, my credit card debts were with natwest and barclaycard i do not understand all this stoozing business that i have seen something about on this forum but am looking to get credit cards.

i bank with halifax i have an overdraft that was recently arrange but have not used it.

Can anyone recommend any cards and what features should i now be looking for as it is all changed and new lingo to me. Should i apply for two at once or one now and one at a later date?

I will be using the cards to help with a home situation so will take me some time to pay it all back.

Also, do they put limit on how much you can have on the cards given that i have no recent credit history.

i dont want to stuff my chances and credit a mess on my credit file if i know what i should and should not be doing, thanks for your input.

Before we spend too much time on this, we went round this particular mulberry bush several times on this thread -

To sum up the key points -

You're not on the ER (and refuse to do so)
    You have no credit history
You were advised to try a sub prime card
    Your credit score is meaningless.

Did you try any of the cards named in your other thread?

Also - how much are you saving each month? Any card you may be able to get will have a high APR. Can you afford the repayments?
