Can anyone, ANYONE please help me resolve what is my most frustrating customer service issue ever!
I'm on holiday in the US and because of this, when I try to log in to hotmail the system detects unusual sign in activity. Sadly I have not kept my phone number updated on my hotmail account so I cannot receive a confirmation code.
I go through the alternative steps of putting in my personal details, security question answer and even put in exactly my previous sent email recipients and email titles (ironically, I still have partial access through my android app so I can give exact previous email issue).
Sadly, despite this, the automatic outlook system says I did not provide sufficient information to recover my account!!
I have looked in vain online for a way to speak to a real person at microsoft (either by phone or through live chat). When I go to support.microsoft.com and get to a page where I have the option to go to live chat, I click on it and it just takes me back to the unusual signin activity page so I can go no further.
Can anyone please help me with either a way to contact hotmail customer service or a way to help resolve this issue.
The reason I need this is I think an important email has gone into my junk email folder and the android app does not seem to have a Junk email folder. I'm also worried that if for whatever reason I get logged out of the app, I will lose my account access.

Android app has a Spam folder, try that.0

Did you not have a backup email set on your account? (I use my Hotmail for my Gmail account, and my Gmail for my Hotmail account).0

Thanks for the replies.
The spam folder is not the same as the junk folder. There is nothing in there.
I have a second hotmail account and the first step in verification is getting a code sent there, which I did. Once I enter the code, I have to go through the personal info section but although I populate this fully, the automatic response is that I have not provided enough information. There is nothing else I can provide!
I just need to speak to someone because the automatic system is not resolving my issue.0 -
Here's a radical idea.... unless you're expecting urgent emails & you are on "holiday" why not wait 'till you get home & sort it then?Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0

Do you have anyone that you trust who could go into your house and logon from there under your direction?0

There is an email customer service option I once used when I was abroad but it takes some searching to find it as Yahoo staff play cards and drink all day and don't like to help their customers. Then when you eventually find it they ask pertinent questions and can then get you back in.0

All very interesting, but I doubt Yahoo staff give one stuff about Hotmail issues.0
