So we are talking about a CHP setup and not an IPGT arrangement.

New house builders really are milking their purchasers with their restrictive convanents, dodgy leaseholds and ties to energy suppliers.

They are making their customers mere chattels upon the land.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I would check the charges as will be sold as low cost when not, this is a low carbon scheme.
The usage charges will be low but the standing charges will be very high in comparison to say a gas supply. It normally includes the servicing of the Heat Interface Unit (instead of a boiler) in your property as well so this needs to be taken into account.
If you are living on your own it will probably be more expensive that you would pay on a conventional system, usually evens out if a family in the property.
Once you have bought the property you will not get the prices lowered and will not be able to change suppliers. Also be aware that the Heat Trust only covers customer service and they will not touch pricing. The Heat Trust is also a voluntary scheme for suppliers so check that the scheme you are looking to move into is part is signed up to the Heat Trust.
