I'm really confused by all this "could/should" have rejected the car. Did you, in writing, in the correct format, in a reasonable timescale, reject the car?2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000

Yes it was fraud. Your issue was with the dealership - not the finance company.
Oh dear, if they do indeed follow through with a CIFAS marker you are well and truly screwed for the next 6 years. You can also wave goodbye to driving a car as well because only 2 insurance companies will touch you with a CIFAS marker and your premiums will be astronomical.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm reading it as OP bought a car, thought about rejecting it but didn't follow through, subsequently wrote car off and had no GAP insurance so looked to retrospectively reject it or exploit any loophole to avoid repaying outstanding balance.
Now has been caught out and has a big black mark hanging over him for next 6yrs0 -
