Replacement after moving abroad

So a slightly complicated one.
I bought an IPhone 6 from Currys about 18 months ago. I now live in Berlin, Germany and the charging port has stopped working properly. Went to Apple and got a report to say there is no damage to the port (therefore obviously not my fault) but currys have said that they won't replace it only offered a partial refund of £200. Considering it would not be impossible to send me a replacement here in Germany can they do this.
I also can't send it back to them first since I rely on my phone for work (I'm a Deliveroo Courier). But nonetheless do they not have to send me a replacement regardless and then let me send the faulty one back?
Yourhelp would be much appreciated.

As its over 6 months old, you will need to provide an independent report stating the fault is an inherent one.
Currys can offer an option of a refund, but can deduct to take into account for the 18 months use you have already had. They do not have to offer a replacement.
Looking on ebay at the price of a second hand iphone 6, the offer of £200 seems very reasonable.
Currys are acting within the law.0 -

This is because the legislation that covers the contract is the Consumer rights act and as you are using the phone for business purposes, they may decide that you are not entitled to any refund.
This is unlikely to happen but why take the risk?0 -
I was never the assurance notion that I had an absolute right to a repair or replacement first as long as it was possible?0

Assumption sorry0

I know it's something Apple should have checked but just in case they missed it use a pin to try to clean the port, they get full of compacted pocket fluff over time and then the port stops working until the fluff is removed. I clean mine out once a month just to make sure it stays fluff free. If your phone has a white frame it is easy to see, shine a light in the port and the whole thing should look white, if there is black or grey deep in the port then it is fluff. Not as easy to see on the black frames.
Other than that, your assumption is incorrect, they don't have to offer a repair or replacement first and can go straight to a refund (even partial) and you won't get anything until the phone is back with them so you will have a period without it.0 -

This.... my iPhone 7 stopped charging & wouldnt only charge if I held the charging lead in on a certain angle. Cleaned it out & it works perfectly.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

I'd accept the £200!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Why did apple not do something? They are usually pretty good and will cover a phone for two years0

It's out of warranty, so unless you can prove a pre-existing fault, then Curry's don't have to offer you anything. £200 is a generous offer under these circumstances. The fact that you moved abroad is irrelevant. as is the fact that you need it for work.
And I cant' believe that you are naive enough to think that any company is going to send you a replacement iPhone until they receive the faulty one back.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
