Manchester Victoria Pay&Display machines
Hi,
I parked at Manchester Victoria station last New Year, paid my fee, yet received a parking charge alledging i had not paid a couple of weeks later. Thankfully i kept my ticket which indeed showed i had paid, appealed this and included a picture of the ticket. I have heard no more about the charge (July). The ticket i kept proved beyond doubt that i had paid the fee.
I followed the instructions to input the car reg plate into the pay and display machine and then pay the fee from their signs, so have come to the conclusion that the machine must've not recognised the reg number and matched up the payment i made to it. I entered the reg plate with no spaces eg "XXXXXXX".
Have i entered the reg correct, or do I need to eg leave a space "XXXX XXX" for it to be recognised properly by their machines? As I want to use the same car park but prevent the hassle of dealing with another incorrect parking ticket afterwards!
The reason i am asking this question is that i plan to use the same car park again shortly, for a similar length (have done extensive research to avoid it but it is the best for location and price for me).
Thanks

Do whatever the instructions on the machine say. If they don't say either way, just do what seems logical. If someone else is using the machine just before you, see what they do.
