Excel formula help

Options
Hi folks

You've been able to hep with questions I've had in the past, and here's a new one.

I want to do the following, but can't sort the formulas out to help me -

Cell A1 has a temperature reading
Cell A2 has a Yes/No response
Cell A3 has a Yes/No response
The last two are responses to different questions

I want the spreadsheet to tell me the following

Cell A5 to count if #A1 is showing a temp of 36.5 or less, and #A2 is showing Y
Cell A5 to count if #A1 is showing a temp of 36.5 or less, and #A3 is showing Y
Cell A5 to count if #A1 is showing a temp of 36.5 or less, and #A2 is showing Y and #A3 is showing Y

I thought I'd cracked it, but then started seeing Y's being counted when the temp wasn't less than 36.5

Hope all that makes and someone can be of assitance.

Many thanks in advance

    Something like =if(A1<=36.5,if(A2="Y",if(A3="Y","OK","NG"),"NG"),"NG")

Obviously OK and NG need to be substituted and any spaces added by this forum are to be removed.

Honestly though doing it all in one formula is a headache and the above almost certainly requires tweaking, the best way is multiple formulas into hidden cells and then you can get each part working on it's own before using a much simpler formula in the output cell, it's that or be driven mad by Excels error notifications.

Then you can check it by putting in some sample data, and making sure that all the intermediate calculations are correct ; not just the final one.
  • All sorted :)

    Thanking you kindly !
