Change energy supplier when have solar panels

I have solar panels, thus get a feed in tariff (when it's sunny) but use gas and electric from the grid the rest of the time. Given this I'm finding comparing suppliers- especially those with fixed tariffs really confusing. How do I know if I'm getting the best deal?

Your solar panels will have no effect on your 'best deal'.

If you consume and pay for xxxxkWh pa electricity from an energy company, you use that figure on any comparison website. The contribution from your solar panels is not a factor as it will be the same for any company you use.

e.g. If you use and pay for, say, 3,000kWh pa, that is the figure you use in any comparison website.

I take it you are aware that you can continue to collect your FIT from your present company, regardless of who supplies your electricity.
