What we really need is pics of the entrance, pics of the signs at the entrance and throughout the site, and a redacted scan of the PCN/NTK.
We also need to know if you appealed as keeper or driver.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Can you contact the local police station, with the time and date, and best description of the officer ?
They should know who is on shift, and where they are.
Ask them if, in the event of a citizen query such as yours, the officer would normally be required to log it in their pocket book :
If so, there may be a record
If not, tell them there should be such a requirement, because a citizen should be able to rely on the police knowing the law, and penalty fares are at stake
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignorantia_juris_non_excusat
"In criminal law, although ignorance may not clear a defendant of guilt, it can be a consideration in sentencing, particularly where the law is unclear or the defendant sought advice from law enforcement or regulatory officials. For example, in one Canadian case, a person was charged with being in possession of gambling devices after they had been advised by customs officials that it was legal to import such devices into Canada.[4] Although the defendant was convicted, the sentence was an absolute discharge."0 -
In my opinion all this reference to the law and the policeman's advice is irrelevant and will divert you.
This has nothing to do with a real parking ticket, it's not a penalty, it is an unregulated money making scam, and just a speculative invoice on private land, the policeman was obviously not clued up and gave you bad advice.
The ppc will just come back with the usual "we act on behalf of the landowner, signs are clearly displayed, your responsibility, the pcn, was probably removed by others" etc etc0 -
To be honest this is my thought also. I know the PO did not write it down, and as for the fact it was at start of June, I doubt there's any CCTV or anything like it left. I guess the thing thats irritated me the most is the fact there was nothing stuck to my vehicle, despite their photograph showing so. Therefore it came completely out of the blue, was quite a surprise.
Pics, one is the sign they have supplied with their evidence, one is a photo from streetview of the area and lastly the paperwork sent through.

There are so few police around that I suspect if you contact the local station with a description of the person, they will know exactly who the officer in question is. And if they told you to park there they should help you.If you were not the driver write to the parking firm and tell them who was so they CANNOT hold you liable. The person who was driving the car is responsible so let them deal with it. Not you! Don’t let people with an agenda tell you otherwise.0

Most of the regulars here also advise on PePiPoo, either under their MSE user name, or a different one, as do PePiPoo regulars in the opposite direction!
We've never seen you previously contribute to this forum: do you advise on PePiPoo? Have you received advice yourself on PePiPoo on a private parking charge case?
It's always interesting to understand from where a 'strangers' out of the blue opinion emanates. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Strange that a Constable would advise parking on double yellows.0

The sign is forbidding in my opinion and cannot therefore offer or form a contract with a motorist.
Nice pic showing why a motorist would have missed the signs.
Was this the first notification you got as it says a NTK was sent? This would not be the first time a motorist has not received a NTK.
