I would like to check my credit file but I'm weary as to whether it will show up to any potential debtors or whether my information is shared.

Can potential debtors see when I've used Noddle or get notified in some way?

Have you checked Experian (using the MSE credit club) or Equifax (using clearscore.com) ?

If you have checked the other 2 then they will know you have used them and get notified.

Call Credit (Noddle) will use the information you give them to update the information they hold about you. They'll also pass it on to other companies and organisations.

According to their privacy policy they can/will share the information you give them with everyone and their dog. This part is specicically related to your question:

Who we share information with

[...]

The provider of your credit history

We may share your personal information with our group company Callcredit Limited and its employees and agents in order to obtain and provide you with your credit report.

CRAs and their affiliates will almost certainly use all information you give them to updates their files.

Like Experian and Equifax, Callcredit are also members of GAIN (the Gone Away Information Network). Other members will include banks and credit providers.

In short, OP, there's not really a hiding place if/when you owe money.

When you search your own credit file via Noddle the search record appears in a section called 'Your searches' which states:

"This section details searches that have been made on your credit file through Callcredit within the last 24 months. Searches stay on your report for 2 years and don’t have any impact upon your credit rating.
These searches are not seen by third parties."

However, as mentioned previously, Noddle (Call Credit) will use the information you give them to update their files and pass it on to other organisations.

This information may, for example, include details about your current and previous addresses.
