There's a better deal that will save you £550/year.
You will never get the best deal if you are fixed on the make or model. You want to look for cars that are about to be replaced with new models or unpopular cars if you want a good deal. If you have decided on a Merc then you will have to pay for it. 9 months up front is just to make the monthly repayments look competitive, work out how much the car will cost over the term and then compare.0 -

You won't get lots of motorway miles on a 10,000 a year lease!Mercdriver wrote: »For lots of motorway miles I'd choose the C Class over the A.0 -
So you'll pay £7700 for a car to do a maximum of 20,000 miles.
If that's how you want to spend your money, that's your concern. I'd prefer to put the money into my pension.
Pensions are important no doubt, but I've seen too many get to retirement with a lump sum but no health or desire to make use of it, and it just gets left for others to fight over once they have passed
I'm not suggesting the OP doesn't get a car, I haven't even looked what the one is, I know the C220d, but having driven one It's not a long term car for me by a long way, but the OP is asking for themselves , to me the only decesion is if they can comfortably afford the repayments as so often we see sob stories of buyers remorse when they find they cannot keep up the repayments.0 -

You can only drive as fast as the traffic will allow you to. Also with the speed limits....unless you're one of these people that choose to ignore those limits..Hopefully not.Carman0121 wrote: »Exactly what im planning to do..
With my job theres a lot of motorway travel but i also like to drive fast which makes the c-class the best option being faster and smoother...0 -

You can only drive at 70MPH maximum which every car is capable of. If you want a better deal then look at a 2 year old Ford Mondeo.
Assuming you actually have money for the deposit and won't be borrowing that, I'd suggest something like a 2008-9 Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Insignia. It'll eat up motorway miles for breakfast in comfort, you can buy in cash and it won't matter that you do 20,000+ a year. Remember a 10,000 mile a year limit on the lease is 200 miles a week and above that you'll pay a mileage penalty and a hefty one too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. A wise choice.... it's great if one can comfortably afford the repayments, if they have to penny pinch then it's not going to be an enjoyable experience hatming chances of loaning money when it is more required. You can get nice reliable cars cheap enough, yes it's a big plunge buying brand new and outright, but those that have done it possibly enjoy the time they have owned the car more.0 -
I could easily afford it due to getting another job with more income but now im thinking I would rather own a car...
My current car ive had for nearly 6 years so due an upgrade either way...
Going to either buy an BMW 3series M (2010) or a VW scirocco
most likley the 3 series though0 -

Who knows what can happen over the next 36 months especially with the current economic climate.0
