My daughter bought leggings on-line from Asics.com. Wore them twice to exercise in and they tore in the crotch area! We returned them to Asics who say because they are 'damaged'! they will not refund or replace. Eventually after several emails back and forth I requested they send them back and I would try and repair them, they cost £36.00 shes only 17 and can't afford to lose this sort of money! any advise would be appreciated.

My suggestion is to wait until you get them back and then repair them.0

What was the gist of the e-mail exchange ?
Did you make it clear that the reason for your returning them was because you deemed them faulty / not fit for purpose ?
What did ASICS say in response ?
How were the leggings described and what sort of exercises was you daughter doing ? If they were a 'fashion' item then I'd suggest that jogging would be ok but perhaps you might not expect them to survive vigorous gymnastics / doing the splits etc ....?0 -
KeithP, They said it was not policy to return them to me in other words they're probably in the bin. p00hsticks, Obviously they are meant for gym use and exercise and not fashion, my daughter used them for exercise and no vigorous gymnastics/splits involved. It was a tick box return slip but I did email them and advised Asics what had happened quoting inferior product etc0

I would keep pushing them for a replacement and reiterate that they have only been worn twice for exercise and not mis-used.
If they are unhelpful, try posting pictures of the damaged item on their twitter and Facebook account.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
pinkshoes. I wish I had taken photos but they have the leggings now so there's not much I can do there. I've sent lots of emails to customer experience! and tried to message on there fb messenger page but no one is replying.0

Try messaging (posting) on the public Facebook page rather than private messaging?0

I'd keep pushing to have them returned/replaced.
Even if they maintain their stance that they are user damaged, they do not have the right to then keep hold of your damaged item.
If they have gone in the bin, even better for you as they will have to either send a replacement pair or refund them.0 -

Are you sure this is what they said?
Did you buy direct from ASICS? All my running, tennis and gym shoes are ASICS but I wouldn't buy direct from them unless I couldn't get what I wanted anywhere else - to buy direct from them is not cheap. Although I love their shoes I'm no expert on their clothing (let alone female leggings) but I'm surprised you can get a pair for just £36.
If they don't return them (again - are you sure they said they wouldn't?) I think they owe you £36.0 -

you can't actually post on there fb page unless you comment on a particular advertisement.
I have now received the original leggings back after phoning there UK customer service section and complaining to them, I thought at first they had sent a new pair as they were in a sealed pack but no alas they were her minor torn/ripped leggings, not really happy but at least she has something for her money. Will now think twice about buying from them again.0
