I need to phone virgin media this morning. I ran out of data last month, but as soon as I got the text to say I had used up 95% I bought another 1gb. 4 hours after the text to say I'd bought it, I got a text to say I'd run out completely, but assumed it came through automatically so didn't worry. My bill came through yesterday, and it shows the add on, and also an extra day's charges. I don't feel that's fair as I purchased the add on before I was told I'd run out, and have the text messages in that order to show it. It's only £3, but I'm not happy paying it when I did what I was supposed to!! Their phone lines open at 8.
My Tesco shop I see coming this morning. I'm waiting for it to show on the credit card so that I can update ynab. I've not done brilliantly for this week's shop as I didn't food plan first. I only bought one lot of fish, though, and no other meat as we've got in the freezer so I now need to check what we have and meal plan from there!! Will do that this morning. We're out lunch time and dinner time today. I'm aiming for a cheap lunch, and for dinner I'm thinking something like Brewers Fayre as it's not badly priced, and ds1 loves the play area!! I've got £100 budgeted, but unless any other spends crop up, I should be spending a bit less.
Right, so tasks this morning before heading out:
*update ynab and check accounts,
*find out what dh's bonus at the end of the month will be and budget it,
*phone virgin mobile,
*meal plan,
*laundry.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

Good start to the day! Only thing I haven't done is the laundry. That will probably wait until tomorrow now so that we can go out.
I got the £3 taken off my phone bill without any problems. I also upgraded my phoneIt was coming to the end of the contract, the sound had gone strange, it didn't have enough memory and I kept running out of internet data. I know many people that money save have cheaper phones, sim only contracts, etc. but I'm happy budgeting in for my mobile.
For £31 a month I've gone 4g, iphone (I love apple products), 5gb data and double the memory of my current phone. :j It should be arriving Monday, and I get £74 for sending my old phone back to them.
I ordered a salmon side from tesco today, as it was reduced from £15 to £7.50. I'm going to portion it up and freeze. We love salmon here, and I love that price!! :rotfl:

We had budgeted £100 for today, and managed to come home with just over £51 left! :j The rest I've split between savings and Christmas.
Ds1 hasn't seemed himself today, so I think he may be coming down with something. Thankfully tomorrow is going to be a quiet, pj day, so if he's not 100% he won't need to move far from the tv and will have lots of cuddles.
I'm up to £19.60 with my 20ps now, so I somehow need to find another 2 before next Tuesday as I want to pay them into the bank. I wonder what I can buy for 50 something pence in the local shop??!! :rotfl:Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Sunday! Dh is going to work today, so it's just me and the boys at home. We may go for a walk to the local shop to see what I can get so that I can get my final 2 x 20ps change!
Today's tasks:
*Find 2 x 20p,
*Laundry,
*Cook a roast by the time dh gets back from work,
*Start thinking about food for ds2's birthday,
*Tidy up downstairs,
*Watch a film with ds1 whilst ds2 is asleep.

I didn't manage to find any 20ps. We haven't actually left the house!!! Will do that tomorrow or Tuesday. The washing machine is going at the moment.....there's always laundry to do!!! We had our roast dinner, yum! I did a bit of research earlier and started writing a list for ds2's birthday party. It's not going to be a big party, just family coming over for the afternoon. Definitely won't be doing party bags or games or anything like that. Just family, friends and little kiddies playing.
I've tidied the kitchen today - I love it when the kitchen table is clear. Ds1 has been making his way through his dvd selection today....so I think I've made my way successfully through most of today's list!!
I know how much of a bonus dh will be getting at the start of December, and I've budgeted that into my spreadsheet. A lot of it will go into savings, which is great. :j
Right, the rest of today looks like a sofa, blanket, pjs and tv! I'm a celeb is back on, which I love!!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Today's list:
* Find 2 x 20p,
*Laundry, second load on
*Portion the salmon side, done.....I really must remember to wear gloves when dealing with fish!!
*Surveys, managed one....would love to reach another payout soon
*Check/Update YNAB and the accounts, done
*Have a look for a new jumper using discount, done - good old supermarket shopping!
*Find a new recipe for our mackerel tonight. going to try garlic, bay leaves and lemon
I've been thinking for a while I'd love a new jumper for Autumn/Winter. I have my own personal money (dh and I get 'pocket money' each month to spend on what we want without questions - so far this month I've treated myself to a bottle of gin, so will use the rest on the jumper), and a few discount codes in my inbox. I'm going to have a look for a nice one as a treat.
My new phone is being delivered today. Apparently there's still 38 stops before mine, so will probably be this afternoon. Super excited about that. Today isn't looking very money savingStarting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I got my 20ps, so now have £20 to pay into the and tomorrow. Well, I say I got......I actually sent Dh to the shop with £1, asked him to buy something that costs between 51p and 60p and that he could keep whatever it was!!! He bought 3 wham bars and kept one for me!!!
My new phone has arrived today so have pretty much got everything transferred over. I just need to find a couple of passwords to get into my banking apps!!! Tomorrow morning's job!!
Tonight's mackerel was lovely. All 4 of us cleared our plates!! I'm making bolognese tomorrow so I've promised ds1 I'll pick up some garlic bread. I've got a few other spends tomorrow, but shouldn't be too costly. Thinking about it, I may buy our Christmas turkey as the money's going into the account.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Grrrr to children going to the toilet at 5:30 and informing me of their trip!!! No sleep since!!!
I'm almost signed in to everything on my phone just one bank left to sort. I've updated ynab and checked the accounts. The money I was putting into savings has finally transferred, which leaves my personal account a little empty!!
A few little jobs to do today, and even more laundry. I'm going to make a bolognese this afternoon, and hopefully have enough for one or 2 lunches at work this week.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I popped into town today to pay my 20ps in as well as the money from selling a couple of bits on facebook! :j I then went to Tesco and bought a turkey
I also stocked up on some prosecco for Christmas as it's 25% off 6 bottles.
I made the bolognese this afternoon and have enough leftover for lunch tomorrow for me and dh, as well as a portion for ds2.
I've got a sore throat starting up today so think I'll do nothing this evening (except watch the Martin Lewis programme of course!!). Hopefully an early night will shift it!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
