  • It is like watching paint dry when you are waiting on money coming into your account isn't it Mrs S? My advice would be to stop checking apart from once a day and distract yourself for the rest of the day. Have you not been told when it is being sent?

    I know :rotfl:

All they've said is this week! Dh reckons it will be Friday as that's a 'normal' day for a pay run type thing! At least I'm at work tomorrow and Thursday so I won't be able to check!

    So far this week:
    1. NSD - 2/3
    2. AFD - 2/3
    3. £8.99/£40 (with over £13 in Prolific waiting to be cashed out!).

So far so good this week. I should have prepped lunch for tomorrow, but I haven't! It will be a tin of soup or a sandwich if I don't make anything healthier. I definitely won't be buying lunch.

Tomorrow won't be a nsd. I'm having my haircut after work (budgeted for) and then taking the boys to the fair. I'm pretty sure it's £1 / ride so shouldn't be too expensive. I'll take £10 cash out and that should be enough. The boys will eat before going.......I'll grab something quick as we're dashing out of the house. I also need to pop into Wilko's before my haircut to pick up a new cold compress. Ds2 bit through the last one!!!!

I use a spreadsheet as well as ynab, and have been playing about with that tonight. I've worked it up until June, but it's definitely a working copy and will go through a few changes! I've been having a read of diaries today......they're so motivating!!

No changes today. We spent £11 at the fair. I had my haircut, which was budgeted for and in Wilko I picked up what I needed with the change that was in my purse.

I've been at work today, so haven't been checking the bank :rotfl: I'm starting to think that Dh may be right with his Friday guess! I've not managed any surveys today, there's nothing on Prolific right now.

Thursday........my last working day of the week. I've taken tomorrow off as we're away for the weekend. Accommodation is cheap (and has been paid for £85 for 2 nights), it's just food and petrol to sort. The tank is almost full at the moment, so should last. We're not paying silly breakfast prices, so are taking a couple of things we can eat in the hotel room (and we're around the corner from a big Tesco extra).

I'm going to pop to the supermarket tomorrow before going to pick up a couple of snack and drinks for the room so that we don't pay vending machine prices.

Right, I'd better get showered and ready for work. Baked Sweet potato and salad for lunch today - I baked the sweet potato last night, so just the salad to prep this morning.

    Friday.......going away day! Yay :j

Ds1 is going to school first and Dh is working this morning. Once I've dropped ds1 off at school, I'll be taking ds2 to the supermarket for a couple of bits. We actually don't need much as I sorted out our snack/drinks cupboard last night and I found quite a few small bottles of water so they've been bagged to go.

The money isn't in yet. I know it's still early, and until it reaches the account it's not actually our money, but I did think it would be in by now. I would just really love to have it by the end of the month/payday, before I sort next month's finances and the next loan payment goes out!

Yesterday ended up being another nsd, but it wasn't a AFD. Being away this weekend won't help either! Will do better next week.

Prolific is slow at the moment, but with work I'm not able to check often so I've probably missed a few. Hopefully I'll find a survey or 2 to complete today. Prolific is at just over £13.50, so would love to reach £20 by the end of the month!

    Is the money in now?

    No

It's a bit of a strange situation which means I can't push to find out what's happening. A close family member is coming into some (a lot!!) of money through inheritance. The money was meant to be released from the solicitors to them this week and we were receiving a small amount of it (I know..........£20,000 is not small, but compared to the full amount, it is!!). I usually see this family member a few times a week, but haven't this week at all (genuine circumstances both sides). I don't feel it's right to contact to ask so it's just a waiting game. Also, this person doesn't know anything about our debt (no one does other than me, Dh and whoever is reading this :rotfl: ). I'm 100% confident we will get it, but I just hate this waiting!! We're very, very lucky and I definitely appreciate every penny of it. I'm just totally impatient!

We're away for the weekend so it's going to be more spendy than usual! No starters for food tonight, and I didn't eat a pudding either. We only had 1 drink out as well, and had another 1 in the room which we'd brought with us. We already have breakfast ready - porridge pots!

I'm the only one awake now! The boy said haven't long been asleep though! Ds2's cot is right next to my side of the bed so tomorrow morning will be fun once he wakes :rotfl: it took him long enough to get to sleep!

We take Porridge pots away with us for breakfast too.

My friend is always commenting about our (apparent expensive) weekends away, but we stay in Travelodges and buy 39p porridge pots from Aldi. Occasionally we may really splash out and have a £5 Wetherspoons breakfast. But we never pay the £8 in Travelodge or Premier Inn.

The boys (particularly the youngest) loved their breakfasts this morning! This is our fourth Premier Inn stay this year (one was for a family do) but as they're so reasonably priced it's probably cheaper than a holiday abroad!
