House buying fees

How much would people recommend having in savings for the costs of buying a house (not including deposit)? I'm considering arrangement fee, booking fee, valuation fee, survey fee, stamp duty, solicitor fee, land registry fee, local van hire (myself to drive), new curtains/blinds, new cooker, mixer shower.
Would £5000 be enough?

Impossible to say without knowing how much the property you intend to buy will cost, as the stanp duty is entirely dependent on that. The other items are relatively fixed, or at least have upper limits unless you plan to go mad with the cooker and shower.0

Would depend on the value of the property you're considering buying because of stamp duty. £5k would be a good figure to aim for.Current Mortgage 01.10.17 £113,513.88

A house we're going to view is £132000 so stamp duty will be about £140. Shower and cooker will cost about £200 each. I wont need to pay to get them installed.
I just dont want to start the process to then run out of money.0 -
Leave a bit extra in case it falls through and you need to start again! If you're cutting it so fine that even a shower and cooker are worrying you.....leave it a bit and save more0

Whatever you think you need add more on. Unexpected costs may occur when you move in like repairs, furnishings that crop up or things flagged up on the survey. We've moved 3 weeks ago and I've a buffer of money for anything going wrong unexpectedly e.g. The old boiler.0
