Confused by boiler timer

Cant see any photo, but out is usually off and in is on.
There will also be a three position switch on the clock, On/Off/Timed
On = Thermostat controlled (temperature around thermostat is less than set temp, it will turn on)
Off = Off
Timed = On during the times set on the clock, when temperature below set temp on the thermostat.0 -
If you want it on at 7am, stick the pin in the On hole at 7
If you want it off at 8am stick the pin on the Off hole at 80
