Selling retention

We sold a house last September and agreed for a £ 1000 retention be held back for work to be carried out it was to do with radon gas. As yet the work has not been done . Is there a timescale on the work to be completed by.

person B made it a condition that he would hold back £1,000 from his payment to you until radon works were completed
