I think that's going to be the plan for today - thank you - lets hope this store are more welcoming than the other one! X0

I can't find a way to add the photos but I sent them to Argos Customer Services and they themselves say they can see nothing wrong with them (because there IS nothing wrong with them), and that they can't understand why the return has been refused.
If you have spoken to Customer Service and they agree that the pans don't look used and that you are entitled to a refund under their money back guarantee get back in touch with them and ask them to contact the store you wish to return them to (preferably a different one) to say that you are going in today and they have to refund. That's what Customer Service is there for.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
In the Argos we go to they always put the ordered stuff on the counter for you to check before you pay.
Hope you can get it sorted at the other store, I've always found them to be very good.0 -
What's the price difference between the two products?0

Hi all,
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here for all the help and the kind replies.
The pan set was taken to another Argos store the following day and was refunded in full without any problems at all by lovely staff who were all chatty, friendly and very helpful.
They didn't have the TEFAL set they wanted in stock so they reserved it there and then on their systems at the only local store that had one left - yes - the store where all the problems had occurred! lol
My son went in to collect them. He didn't mention what had happened before with his fiancee but he did insist that they opened the box and checked all the items were there and that nothing was marked or damaged in any way before he left the shop with the set (just in case) :-)
All that upset and fuss and all because of an overzealous and really quite rude Argos assistant.
I would comment that the customer service members I spoke to on the telephone were all as stunned as me by what had happened especially those who saw the actual photos of the pan set they were trying to return, but the system they have in place seems to be that the final decision on returns or exchange is with the store - all ideal perhaps if the store are being fair and reasonable, but not when they are being Unreasonable it makes life VERY difficult for honest shoppers!
Thanks again everyone for all your help - I have only been a reader on here before so it was great to be on the receiving end of such willing help when I finally posted asking for help on a matter :-)
Great site, great Forum xx
(ps - Fosterdog - Just for info, there was no TEFAL picture/wording on the box, just a plain brown box.)0
