Oh I lurrrrve mince pies :):) Some years I get organised and make my own mince filling in September and then leave it to do its thing till December and then bake it in pies. But this year I haven't been that organised. When it's home-made the filling is delicious.

I followed Delia's recipe for homemade mince a few years ago and was surprised to discover that it wasn't that sweet. I rather like it - so I've never made it since because it would be too tempting. OH likes it when I make things from scratch for him but he's perfectly happy eating normal shopbought ones when he's out and about. He's very, very strict with himself about weight control. Unlike me ....

13/31 please, Shaggy and I'd like to echo everyone else's votes of thanks. Without you this thread wouldn't keep going or really work so thank you, thank you, thank you. I'll never figure out how you realised a dancing banana would motivate people so effectively!
    Better is good enough.

    Thank you HB.
If I can get to the weekend I will be up to 10 but Friday could be tricky.

Kind of over lunch time drinking. If I can knock it in the head or significantly reduce then 2018 should be much higher AF number.

  • I can't do lunchtime drinking at all, makes me fall asleep!

Last night was really difficult, I had a real mental battle going on but happy to say I won over, so I am now up to 5/10 for December

I'd like to set a target for 2018 of 150 please Shaggy, and a target for Jan of 25 (as we go away on 27th, so as close to Dry January as I am likely to get!)
What goes around comes around.....I hope!

Honey Bear, it really shouldn't be that sweet and ideally should be really rich and full of flavour - it helps if you have decent pastry which a lot of shop-bought ones don't. Mince pies aren't slimming but they do feel festive and for me they brighten up cold and chilly December so I am prepared to overlook that bit. :rotfl:
    Me toooooo

Excellent choice Shaggy, mince pies all round!!! :j:j_party_ :rotfl:

Same here but it doesn't always stop me.:o

:T on winning out last night.

I've been waking up with a lot of fuzzy headaches lately. Definitely not alcohol induced. I'm wondering whether it's too much tea?? It does mean that I don't fancy a drink so I suppose every cloud....:)
