  • It was my work Christmas lunch and then I was out last night to see a band. Drinking started with prosecco in the office before noon. I had whatever the opposite of free is yesterday. Alcohol caged day?

I paced myself less well than I hoped to but better than I have in similar situations in the past.

I had wine on Wed and Thu and then didn’t sleep as well either.

My digestive system is now keeping me up as payback.

Hope you fared better than me with the hangover, Cathybird
  • Hope you feel better soon WBF.

    AF Friday here.

Morning all, 8/21 for me today.

My plan not to overdo it didn't go brilliantly at the do last night but I'm pretty much fine this morning so that's way ahead of last year's effort for a start. With plenty of room for improvement next year :rotfl:

    I am still on 5/24
Was not planning on having a beer yesterday but a day fraught with heavy snow causing travel delays and then a flooded house due to a bust tap had me saying sod it
Expecting plumber soon so hopefully can restore water to kitchen sink as I am so tired of going upstairs for water and to wash dishes
Just glad it was not an upstairs tap as that would have meant damage to ceilings
Luckily tiled floors restricted any major damage and managed to create a dam to stop it getting to carpets
Lesson learned - if you lend a friend your tool box always keep at least one screwdriver back!!!

Hope the band was good WBF. We went into town to see a band last night and had a meal first. I had a glass of wine with the meal but then didn't fancy any more alcohol. Went to buy a bottle of water at the venue and they only did free water...money saving and reducing alcohol in one night!

Tonight will be a glass of wine with dinner whereas before any type of celebration would have been a glass before I went out, a few glasses of wine with the meal and a few when I got home.

Sorry to hear about the domestic woes, Paspatur.

Well played, Mudbath. There's a whole new, secret world that opens up when people don't drink booze, and it's always interesting hearing about the different ways various establishments deal with it.

It's December. There is going to be a work do if you're employed. It's a good idea to work out a strategy for dealing with it, especially if the drinking is expected to start before lunch. I can truthfully say that 'Just having one' NEVER worked for me, so if you don't want to wake up with a stonking hangover I'd volunteer to be the driver, or work out something else you can drink for a full evening that'll mean you don't miss out. I fully realise the pressure to join in is immense and if you go along with it, don't forget to take a couple of ibuprophen before you go to bed.

    9/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Managed it last night 3/15 please Shaggy.
But out tonight with friends so will have a glass or two then, but not lots.

Hope everyone safe and not too snowed in, blown about or generally buffeted in bad weather.

    I remember it well!:o

We had a Christmas do on Thursday. I enjoyed it but drank more than I've become used to. Didn't fancy the hair of the dog yesterday so an unexpected AF Friday.:D

    4 AFDs please Shaggy.
