Selling vintage magazines

I am pretty new to ebay. I have 4 complete years of magazines (1975,76,77,78) they belonged to a relative and I now need to clear out my loft.
My query is would they be better listed as individual magazines ( for people wanting to complete a set ) or as a whole year ? Should I put all up for sale at the same time so there is the chance ( for someone if they want !) to purchase them all ? also they are all in the original envelopes ( but with the original owners address on , should I include or not include ( they relative has passed away.)
Many Thanks from an ebay newbie

It might help if you were to give an indication as to what the magazines relate to. Some old magazines are pretty worthless.

Have you checked out ebay to see if any have sold in the past & prices achieved? This will give you an idea if they have any value.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • Hi there , they are old Country Music People magazines . Not my " thing" but equally I don't want to put them out with the recycling !

Do a search for completed listings on eBay, that will show whether these have any history of selling and if so how best to batch them. However as cattle says there are very few magazines that are worth selling at all.

The difficulty with that is, the £2 profit may be devoured by returns/snads and inr's.

Yep £2 sale minus postage and fees etc, leaves not a lot.

Then the buyer receives it and finds a crease on a page, so not upto their collection standards and wants a refund. Your then out of pocket.

    Collectors can be extremely fussy.

Done a search and they are not that popular. One seller with approx 100 listed has sold just 1 copy.

My search only shows 12 sold out of 555 listing that ended without being sold. Not a good ratio.

If you sell them one by one expect to be listing them for a very long time.

  • Many thanks for your thoughts
Think I will put them on in whole year collections . They are in very good condition ( one still unopened) Fingers crossed
