Hello.
I am after some advice if you would be so kind please?
I was originally looking at a DVD player for my car headrests so that my kids can watch dvd but then thought that a better option would be to have tablets instead so that they can play games and watch movies etc
I am looking for a cheapish tablet but it must have a USB port to transfer movies etc from my main computer.
Can anyone please recommend anything please?
Thank you so much

Agreed. The Fire tablets are especially great if you already 'buy into' the Amazon eco-system. They're easy to use and you can easily sync them (in terms of your film and music library) with your other Amazon devices. They're also actually very well built for the price.
The only slight downside is that although they're built on Android, they're installed with a customized version of the OS that omits the Google Play Store. In other words, if you want full access to the Android apps market place, you first have to do a few techie things. That's the main reason the Fire range is so cheap - as Amazon want to 'lock you in' to their eco-system and their products / software / media.0 -
The cheap fire tablets do support USB OTG, and even have microSD slots.
If you've got an Amazon prime account they're perfect for kids, since there is a lot of downloadable content.
You can watch films using VLC
You don't have the 'real' android market place, but Amazon has most things; except google stuff like Youtube/maps
BUT - their childrens mode is great, and provides a locked in, simplified OS for kids to use. You can restrict which apps/videos/websites they can use.0
