Building regs on extension not yet signed off

Wasn't sure which sub forum to post this but a little advice would be greatful.

Long story short, in the mid 00's I undertook an extension to my home. All above board with planning and building regs. Things went haywire and I haven't as yet got this signed off. Still have a few minor things to do

Anyway, my question is do I now have to contend with building regs as of 2017 for the whole lot!? Building inspector had visited at certain points throughout the build as per normal, so would the stuff he checked be passed?
LBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
June 20.....£7,587.....3 creditors left 72% paid

£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
£49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,764

    Here in Scotland, if your building warrant expires, you will need a new one and will need to comply with current regs. Things that are likely to have changed are limits on switch and socket heights, insulation requirements etc.

    Alternatively say nothing. After that time I believe they can't enforce it, and if your buyer raises it as an issue you might be able to cover it with an indemnity policy, though not if you have discussed it recently with your building control.
