Vendor won't exchange

I have just heard that the company promises to get the report to the investors solicitor confirming everything is ok on Monday between 9 and 10 and we should exchange then - fingers crossed that all will agree a date for completion and it goes ahead - otherwise it's game over -thank you all for your input.0

March to July isn't very long considering there is a chain. When I bought last year it took from May to September (albeit very end of May to very beginning of September) to complete and that was a chain free purchase, three months was the minimum we were told it would take.0

Just a quick update- investor still won't exchange even though he has been given an indemnity policy and confirmation that the extension on the property won't be compromised by the oil pipeline company - the latest was that the wording on the document wasn't to his liking- from today everyone is putting their properties back on the market. What a waste of time and money and 5 months....0

How infuriating. Time wasters like this should be blacklisted. Really sorry and hope you find another buyer soon or the house at the bottom of the chain does. Not sure an independent coordinator would help though. He would have known that before though - or maybe he thought they didn't apply to him?!
OP, I feel your frustration. I hope you get a nice new buyer very quickly and you can rebuild the chain.0 -

No, new regulations come into force from October. Lenders from earlier this month have started to apply them. One doesn't know what position the buyer is in. Might of even been trying to sell another property to release equity.0 -
I really feel for you OP. We've been waiting 4 months on vendors who have messed about like crazy (and we're cash buyers, so hoped it would be straightforward). Hopefully one day, we'll be in our new homes and will forget the stress of the wait to get there..."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
