Conservatory Relocation

Options
Hi

My friend is taking down his conservatory to make way for an extension and has offered it to me for free. I'm now in the process of trying to get quotes for dismantling and then fitting it in my back garden. The area is mostly patio but will encroach on a raised grass area so that'd need excavating. Conservatory is 1 full brick wall and the rest dwarf and measures about 4x3

I was hoping for a cheap job 2-3k but the only person to quote so far has said £6K. (South east prices)

I really have no idea if that's reasonable or not or indeed how big the job is. Any advice?

Many thanks

Tim

Sorry to say your £2 - £3 k is a bit cloud cuckoo land TBH. The minute you start excavating it adds big bucks. Plus you are effectively paying double labour - once to remove and once to install. Not many guys like doing this as it comes with associated risks.

If you need to excavate, it may be more cost effective to get a brand new one installed. You then get one that fits into the space available rather than excavations to make something fit!!
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
