Virgin Multiroom - There must be something better?

I'm currently with Virgin after switching from Sky 8 months ago and I am happy with their services but I'm wanting to upgrade to multiroom. There is a problem though, the TV I want it adding to is mounted on the wall with no cabinets underneath or around it. After speaking to virgin it is clear that the only way to have multiroom is for me to get a second box but I have nowhere to put it!
I've also been told that each individual box works separately so if I want to record a programme I have to do it twice and delete it twice as well. It just seems ridiculous that with all these 'upgrades' they keep doing this has not been made possible.

Can anyone please recommend a multiroom option better than what Virgin are offering?

well you could move back to sky in 4 months ? and get sky Q
or are you on an 18month contract?

Sorry I didn't mention that I'm moving house and when you move you have to take out another 12 month contract with them. So I'm unsure whether it's worth paying the early settlement fee or if the other service providers are just as bad when it comes to multiroom.

Do you know how sky Q's multiroom works? I know they don't have the magic eyes anymore which worked perfectly when I had them.
