RFS PPI given the runaround!!

Hi i took out a loan from Renault Finace Services RFS almost 5 years ago and also a PPI. I am sure this was misold as i was self employed. They also said i couldnt have the loan without it!
Just phoned the finace company and they said I have to contact the insurance company about it (st andrews group) so contacted them and they said i need to contact the car dealership that sold me the car and in effect loan!!
Please can anyone let me know who i do need to write to about reclaiming
thanks ion advance:cool:

Interesting that they all want to pass the buck, surprise that.
Actually, your claim is likely to be against the lender in this instance as it is they that usually arrange the insurance in such circumstances.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.
  • would that be the car showroom where the car was bought from

    Hi there

For more information and help on this matter, please also feel free to post this up on the PPI reclaiming thread as well, here:

However, while you posted here, with your reasons you have and just as long as a successful claim have not been made, (obviously you have not but must mention this anyway), then you have a right to complain and reclaim on the PPI.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full.
The first letter you receive from them should be the one that will confirm that they have received your letter and that they will investigate, or it maybe that they have investigated and they have made a decision, if not resolved in your favour then sometimes you do have the opportunity to write back to them with further information, so basically you then wait for the final response, which should give you details as well of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can take your complaints to them if your not happy with the outcome.

I would also suggest to post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.

Do not worry about writing about the amounts on the letter.

For more information which includes the guidelines of reclaiming, with a checklist of mis selling reasons also templates here:

Of course for further help, please also feel free to post on the first link above, good luck.;)
