Won bidding war on a reno, now received a poor structural survey. Who Should pay?

This shouts that he ran out of money in the reno and therefore did quick fix stuff at the end to sell.

If he has no money to finish it to a high standard, whether you go half way as the EA says or ask him to do it all, you still have the issue of no money so work still won't be done to a high standard.

As an aside, asking vendors to pay often equals quick and cheap bodge job, after all why would they pay for something they'll never see a return on? It won't increase their take from the sale any.

You do what everyone else on the thread has said - you make like a tree, and leave. I accept what you've said about not many houses in your area meet your requirements, but this just shouts money pit.
