halifax ask how much i want to transfer, do they mean my credit limit with vanquis?

No. They mean if you want to do a balance transfer.
If you don't have a balance, you have nothing to transfer. You just start using the card.0 -

If you want to cancel, you'll need to call them.
But if you only have the two cards, keep and use both.0
