Stuart Maconie is renowned as one of our great chroniclers of working class history, and his latest book, Long Road from Jarrow, tracks his own journey as he follows the route the Jarrow marchers took back in 1936. It’s a poignant travelogue, charting just how much – and in some cases, how little – the country has changed. The book, released last week, has received critical acclaim – and we’ve managed to secure five copies of the hardback, signed by the author himself.
