Letter from Gladstone Solicitors

Hi
I would be grateful for some advice please. The driver was parked in a service station for longer than 2 hours. The driver had never before stayed longer and didn't realise there was a time restriction. The driver didn't notice any signs and was completely oblivious to any offence until a letter arrived from a parking agency called secure a space with the parking charge notice. Asking for £70. The letter was ignored and any subsequent letters sent which have averaged about 1 a month. So today a letter arrived from Gladstone solicitors advising they had been instructed by secure a space in relation to "the debt". Ok so is this just another threat or now it's in the hand of the solicitors should The driver take action. They are demanding payment of £160! Any advice greatly received.

its not an "offence" , but the driver may have broken the site "rules" for parking , because 2 hours is the standard "free parking time" on MSA`s and people purchase additional time if necessary
the signage usually tells you this
in any case , read the NEWBIES sticky thread and write back with a rebuttal of claim
and EDIT post #1 and remove any hint of who was driving
the correct terms are
THE DRIVER
THE KEEPER
the words "me , myself and I" are banned(hint)

Not sure why you ignored it all (not advised since 2013) but at least you are looking for up to date info now. Start by reading the NEWBIES FAQs.
Search the forum for Gladstones £160 as well.
Shedloads of relevant threads, all the same. The info is already here about LBCCCs, Gladstones, how to defend a claim if it happens how to identify a Gladstones proper letter as opposed to a debt collector using their headed notepaper, all of it is already done to death on other G's threads, that's what to search for and read as well as the NEWBIES thread post #2.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi there
I have read so many posts now but I'm still not sure if the letter is just the debt recovery using the headed paper. I cannot see anything on the letter saying it is a letter before claim and it advises to contact the debt collector to make the payment. So if this is the latter what is the advice in how to now proceed?
I really am a novice to forums so I apologise if that information is on the forum already and I'm not just looking in the right place. Thank you0 -

Genuinely amusing if you've dealt with both. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
