Help with Uninstalling a App

I posted the query below in another part of the forum but I'll post it here too in the hope someone can help.
For the first time yesterday I did a survey that required me to download Inquisit. Although I've unistalled it I still have the icon on my desktop. I should have trusted my instincts and returned the survey I knew it was going to be a mistake. Anyone any ideas on what my next step is to remove it completely from my computer.
I will add in my defence that I was using a reputable site and the surveys are from Universities.

It's probably just a shortcut that was missed by the uninstall process, there may be no other leftovers.0

No I didn't try that because I thought if there are leftover bits on my computer it would make them harder to find and delete.0 -
Hi,
try Start, then type Inquisit in search box, see what comes up.0 -

Good morning frugalmacdual
Not sure what Start is but when I type Inquisit into the box on the lower left side of the screen this appears. Documents and the heading Text Import (InquisitLoadLog.csv.)0 -
Hi,
looks as though you have the Inquisit log in your documents folder.0 -

Don't feel you have to respond frugalmacdugal but using file explorer I didn't find it in my documents but Desktop.

Hi,
I would just delete it, and the shortcut.
Then do the search thing again, if it shows up again, empty recycle bin and do search again.
Did you check control panel, then programmes, see if anything lurking there?0 -
Hi frugalmacdual
I've followed your instructions and the search came up blank so hopefully everything is now OK. Thanks for your time.0
