Asbestos garage roof

In October we had a letter from our solicitor to say they had a survey done to show asbestos in the roof. As we didn't believe it we decided to have our own done to check it out and yes it was correct..
Was it a surveyor saying it might be asbestos, or was it an actual asbestos test which cost around £200?0 -
Hi Jo,
as they didn't have a survey I don't see they have any comeback at all.
I would ignore the letter. They're just trying it on and shame on them for the distress it's caused.
If they persist why not go to Citizens' Advice.

It was an actual asbestos test they had done and proved positive for asbestos..., as we bought the panels after the date that asbestos was banned in U.K. ( 2000) and we moved in the house in 2003, then there was no concern to us as we couldn't of possibly bought asbestos sheeting!!!
As we were so shocked at the result we had our own test done and it to came out positive as being Chrisotile, white asbestos and the roof was sound and didn't need replacing due to any damage.
That's when we had our solicitor to write back and explain that we bought it in good faith and as it was of sound structure it would be best to leave it as it was as it would cause more damage to replace it.
The company we bought it from are not interested and we paid cash so we have no evidence.
