in Credit cards
Hi
Can someone please tell me how to aproach my credit card companies? I have 1 card with Capital One and another with Sky.
They were on their limit and I have been repaying the minimum amount for the last 3 months at least (previously been repaying in full but it finaly caught up with me when my savings ran out!).
I have just cut up both cards as I obviously cannot use them. I would like to arrange a regular repayment with the card issuers but I want it to get me somewhere rather than meeting the minimum repayments then them charging me another months interest, if that makes sense?
Is there a way I can ask them to cooperate without getting an IVA etc?
The rest of my finances are shaping up slowly.
Thanks

Try putting this on the Debt Free Wannabe (DFW) forum, it's full of people in the same sort of situaion and they'll be able to help you a lot more.

They can give you advice, but probably the best thing will involve speaking to one of the debt charities, and trying to set up a voluntary pament plan if things are really bad.
If you're not bad enough off for the charities to deal with, the DFW board is also full of hints and tips for making a bit of extra money to throw at the debt.
