Going travelling but haven't recieved my new debit card

Hi, following the advice written on this site, I decided to setup a new nationwide account so that I can use my card abroad without any charges. The problem is that because of the royal mail strike, I won't have my new card delivered before I set off.

What do you recommend until I can get my new card sent to me abroad? I'll be without the card for at least 3 weeks so I need to be able to survive until then.

On the one hand, I could take cash but I'm worried about losing it. I have also considered traveller's cheques but it seems I'll also be ripped off somewhat too. The last resort is of course to just use my Lloyds TSB card but from what I've read, they're one of the worst to get ripped off by.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ask if it will be quicker for it to be delivered to your nearest branch. They may have an internal postal system.
