Cannot cancel VAX online order

I ordered a new Vax carpet washer last night online due to their sale and I realised that I will not be around for the next fortnight for the delivery, so I tried phoned up first thing in the morning to cancel and apparently I CANNOT cancel the order. The item is not showing as dispatched.
This is despite quoting the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 that I have a right to cancel an order as soon as I have placed it. They said that they don't have the facilities to contact the warehouse to cancel an order. Vax advised that on their website it clearly states that "Can I amend or cancel my order?
No, once your order has been placed we cannot amend or cancel it; please refer to 'Returns' if you change your mind. If you wish to order additional items, please place a new order via our website or Careline." and by placing an order I had agreed to these T & Cs. However, these T & Cs are hidden away and are not easy to find. If I had known that I can't cancel an order, I would not have placed an order in the first place.
I thought that is the sort of behaviour the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and Consumer Rights Acts 2015 are supposed to prevent.
Vax plan of action will be to attempt to delivery the item using Yodel. Yodel will atttempt three deliveries, assuming that Yodel don't throw it over the fence, hide it amongst the bins, leave it by the front door in the pouring rain or other idiotic things they do and return it to Vax, a week later for a refund, supposedly. I thought if I rang up first thing in the morning, Vax might be able to cancel the whole order and save themselves a lot of Yodel fees. Who in this day and age can't contact their warehouse to cancel an order? Especially since the previous poster managed to cancel an order!
