Bathroom Suite - Where to buy from ?

Hi

We're refurbishing our house & so we need a new bathroom suite including a freestanding bath and stuff for an ensuite.

There are a number of online retailers that have brochures with great looking bathrooms and they also appear well priced.

I've looked at a number of stores locally and they appear to be more expensive.

I want a nice bathroom suite with freestanding bath etc. Yes, I want to pay as little as possible, who doesn't!
But I also want a good quality suite that will last not something cheap & nasty ! So I'd rather pay a bit more if necessary to get something decent.

I'm nervous of the online retailers, I've just been reading the thread about Victoria Plumb !

Any recommendations ?
Any bathroom installers out there ? Where would you buy from ?

Any advice appreciated !

A friendly plumbers merchant is a good place to go.

They know their brands, who makes good stuff and who is reasonably priced with it.

They won't have fancy showrooms, but even if you take in some photos off the internet to show them on your phone, I bet they can pull something out of one of their many brochures very quickly.

We had Vitra ceramics and a Carron bath, price matched by a local store.
We taps and shower screen were bought online with no issues. Our tiles came from Victoria plumbing (different company) and we're really pleased with them.

Yes, I'm in the same predicament. It sounds like it is better to go to a shop.

    Victoria Plum seems dodgy.

The ideal standard clearance site looked good.
