Win Tickets To A HD
Screening Of The Italian Job
They're about to blow your bloody socks off...
Sky Movies, in partnership with Paramount Home Entertainment UK, has re-mastered two of the most iconic British films in history, Zulu and The Italian Job in HD. Both films will feature on Sky Movies as part of their definitive week of Michael Caine’s films (9-16 March), all to coincide with Sir Michael Caine’s 75th birthday on Friday, March 14.
The World Premiere of The Italian Job in HD will be held at a swanky London venue on March 6 and we’re giving you and a friend the chance to attend this very special exclusive VIP screening of the unforgettable 1969 film that turned Michael Caine into an icon as London geezer Charlie Croker.
The night will kick off with drinks, canap!s and scalextric, followed by the first ever screening of the film in HD.
Charlie Crocker (Michael Caine) is out of jail and on the make with an ingenious plan for the heist of the century. Aided and abetted by a top criminal mastermind Mr Bridger (Noel Coward), Charlie sets off with an ace team of villains and three very special minis to lift $4,000,000 from under the noses of the Turin Polizei. The trouble is, with the cops and the Mafia on his tail, Charlie finds that grabbing money is kid’s stuff compared to getting away with it....

Win Tickets To An Exclusive Grindhouse Screening
Tarantino and Rodriguez's double feature
as it was meant to be seen...
Lovers of cinematic sleaze, gore and general debauchery were deprived of all of the above when Grindhouse was split in two and stripped of fake trailers for its UK release. But now, thanks to Edgar Wright and Momentum Pictures, it’ll be possible to see Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s faux-exploitation double-bill in its full, original form - first at a special screening on Saturday, March 8 at London’s Prince Charles cinema, then at other venues up and down the country.
"What Quentin and Robert were trying to recreate was the thrill of the rep-house screenings they grew up on,” Wright tells Empire. “So I’m really glad there’s a chance for people over here to see the films as they were originally intended, with all the extra trailers, adverts and everything recreating the period. And the Prince Charles is one of the few cinemas that has that special old type feel, so Grindhouse is a perfect fit. It’s an incredible experience with a full house.”
As with his Hot Fuzztival event last summer, Wright will be at the Prince Charles himself to introduce and enjoy the mayhem. And as the director of Don’t!, one of the insanely fun mock-promos interspersed between the two features, he might be bringing a few friends along with him. “There’s a unique cast in Don’t!, the likes of which will never be assembled again. It was one of the most fun things I’ve ever shot. I’ll see if I can rustle up some people - there’s definitely some in town and a couple haven’t seen it yet.”
