Unwanted Emails

I use Virgin Media email. I have suddenly started getting lots of spam which is not filtered. Does anyone know how I can block them? Please.

Me too, also on Virgin. This week I have been inundated with far more spam than usual. Any help appreciated.

When I was with VM some years back their email was just a rebranded gmail.

I have just looked at the Virgin help forum and they are aware of it and are trying to sort it out. They usually have quite good filters so I wonder what has gone wrong.

Thank you for all your replies. I am a bit set in my ways and feel more confident using Virgin emails. Have never had this trouble before. If it is on the Virgin help forum, I hope that something will be done about it. I thought it was just mine.

billn, do you use Google at all? Of course you do, so why not set up a Google account, which will be a gmail address? As has been advised, ISP webmail is just horrible.

Being "set in your ways" is Ok, but I'm 72 and not afraid to keep on learning. gmail is great and a google account leads to so many advantageous features.

I don't usually have a problem with Virgin email, this one only lasted a few hours and then it was sorted out.

I opened a Gmail account and I get mails from people who just want to befriend me and chat via email, annoying so dont use it anymore.
