How to remove blade from saber saw? Can I ask for an exchange/refund if still stuck?

I can't seem to remove the wood sawblade from the saber saw attachment. Are there any tricks to it? I've pushed on the lever and tried to pull/wiggle it out but no success. I've only used it twice to cut wood.
Can I return it to store for an exchange or a refund instead as they are going to have the same-ish model this week? The last time I tried to return a faulty electrical item which is just after 30 days I was told to call head office. The cashier didn't even offer me a refund and states that I have to go through this process. Head office than expects me to post the receipt at my expense overseas.
I have now looked at their store policy:
The store's REFUND policy:
Non-Food specials items
a) Faulty Non-Food specials items
- Within 12 months of purchase:
If you are not satisfied with the quality of a non-food specials item purchased at one of our stores, you may return the item within one year of purchase with your receipt or proof of purchase to one of our stores, for a replacement or a full refund.

Which saw do you have, Black & Decker, Bosch ............... Type Number? Did you receive a manual with it?0

It's a Parkside 4-in-1 cordless multi tool and comes with a manual. There's a red latch on the side for release and then I have to manually pull the blade out. Should I use more force to pull it out? Thanks.0

Try a couple of movements of the blade in the saw without cutting anything and then try to release it.0

You might try a pair of gloves to give it a bit more of a pull, it might be stuck if you have been using it; failing that a pair of pliers to get a bit more grip.
As regards taking it back, you could take it back on the basis of being unfit for purpose as you cannot remove the blade.0 -
