Problems changing to npower

Tried to change to npower through this site in April this year had worked out it was better to change and pay a penalty to the current supplier(SSE) than to stay with them. I had problems with the electricity where the switch failed 3 times but finally got this resolved due to problems with my house having 2 electricity supplies registered on a database. I concentrated on this and then started to chase about the gas. Was never told by npower that this has failed as well. Apparently I live in an area where there is an independent gas transporter and although 3 requests have been made the transporter won't allow it. Npower have now let me lodge a formal complaint but I'm not holding out much hope. My deal runs out next week so I am going to a very expensive tariff with SSE for gas only. Now There are no deals on the market at the same rates I applied for in April does anyone know where I would stand financially. Npower have said they will honour the deal if it goes through but I am not feeling optimistic.
I spoke to the ombudsman but they haven't heard this before. I have read a similar story when I trawled through the forum yesterday about the same problem with npower but their case hasn't been resolved after 6 months!!
Any suggestions please?

How did you resolve the electric issue?
Why won't the IGT allow you to switch your gas supply?
Lots of us here have gas supplied via an IGT and have not experienced any major issue switching (assuming the supplier accepts IGT customers, which all the big 6 do)
Do come back if you need any further assistance. I think expecting a response withinh 3 mins was pushing it, don't you?
It's obvious your post raises more questions than the one you are attempting to ask.
Until these are answered in full, no one can assist you, sorry.0 -
