NatWest Monday wages in saturday

I bank with NatWest and if my wages used to be due in on a Monday they would be available on a Saturday. I have heard this is no longer the case, just wondering if anyone is in the know? I tried looking on NatWest site but found no info. Any help appreciated

I don't know the answer but it could have been a double edge sword - direct debits and standing orders would also be taken in the same scenario.

Apparently the available balance drops Saturday morning, but the amount isn't taken until Monday. Natwest has a work around for affected customers.

I heard a long time ago they were going to bring their weekends in line with most other banks, but nothing has happen.

Deposits due to hit a Natwest account on Monday still appear Saturday morning.

Did your source quote their source ?

NatWest certainly used to have some odd timings, so a payment made on a weekend was automatically future-dated to the Monday ; but actually got sent straight away.

My pay goes into the Royal Bank of Scotland but it applied to a similar coworker who banks with Natwest too (same group after all). In May (2017), my employer forgot to pay us on the Friday so it was scheduled for the following Monday. The balance was available on Saturday.

I bank with Barclays. Wages due on a Monday show on a Saturday, but any DD's scheduled for Monday are not taken from the top line until Monday.

Appreciate you have had responses but was just discussing this with a colleague today interestingly. They do drop on a Saturday morning; I bank with Natwest and both mine and my wife's salaries go in on the Sat when payday is the Mon.

Don't know what you mean by 'drop'. They show up in your bank account, but are not reconciled till Monday evening.
Let's say your balance is zero on Friday evening. On Saturday, your wages will show, let's say £2000. If you go to an ATM on Saturday afternoon and withdraw £300, your balance will show as £1700. However, on Monday evening when it is reconciled, the transactions will show as
    £0
    £300 withdrawal..........-£300
    £2000 deposit...............£1700

So, technically, you were £300 overdrawn for one banking day. There have been other long, drawn-out threads about this subject, you will find them if you care to search.

In years when Christmas Day is a Saturday / Sunday / Monday, there are 4 Bank Holidays in a row. I'm sure that in such years, money that I was due to get on the Wednesday, I was able to access on the Saturday.
