Asda Parking Eye overstay overturned

Hi,
Just a quick note to say thank you for all the advice on here. I received PCN through the post after staying in Worcester Asda car park for 2 1/2 hours when the maximum is 2 hours. Parking Eye time the 2 hours from point of entry/exit, despite the signage around the car park and the printed ticket saying you have 2 hours of parking time. We had a 3 week old baby at the time, so I'm not surprised it took half an hour to enter/exit the car park!
I complained to the Asda customer service email address and only got the stock "not our problem" response. I didn't have a receipt or statement to back me up which didn't help, so I took to twitter.
I leaned on the Equality Act 2010 section 17(4) and got a response asking to send my store receipt by DM. I explained the situation and sent copies of my bank statements showing how frequently I shop at Asda. They messaged back to say they were cancelling the charges.
I'm really pleased that Asda did the decent thing and saved me the rigmarole of dealing with Parking Eye, but I know many people will be in the same boat and pay the charges.
Thanks again everyone :T

You managed to do all that without posting in the Newbies thread then hijacking a thread about a totally different PPC?
I'm impressed. Well done, it shows what a little reading and effort can achieve.0 -
Well done!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Great example to those who gripe that the NEWBIES FAQ sticky is too complicated (aka, I can't be bothered to put in the effort to read and learn what I need to do. I want someone else to sort out my problem for me!).
:TPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
