CarpetShops - Do they fit underlay if I buy it from somewhere else?

Just got a new home and want to re carpet a lot of it which is going to be quite costly. Its much cheaper to get underlay off a site online but my question is if I do this do I need to lay it down for the carpet fitter or will they do it?

Another side question ive seen some cheapish £4-5 M2 carpets online too if I got really good underlay would they be soft for a living room or is it worth spending more on a carpet.

thanks

It depends on the fitter and most work independently, not for specific shops. That said, it's not hard to fit.
I wouldn't put carpet that cheap in a living room personally.
I would trawl the shops and then find what you like online.
