No low battery warning on laptop

My HP Pavilion g is about 4 years old and has served me well. Until a couple of weeks ago a warning would ping up to tell me if battery level was getting low and I would plug in to the mains if I needed to continue working. For an unknown reason this warning has stopped working, so the laptop will just stop working. There is a battery icon shown, but TBH I don't watch it! I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that has switched off at some point, but I'm blowed if I can find it. Any ideas?

Are you W10?You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

That sounds like it could be a worn out battery that just runs out of charge too quickly. My HP has battery diagnostics in HP Support Assistant. I suggest you run that/0
