My epilepsy nurse gave me a card, very useful explains to people what to do in case of a siezure. You can also add what is normal for you in a siezure which is invaluable info for strangers and paramedics.0

This is a really good idea. What about making emergency first aid (lower and easier level) part of the curriculum? What about making it part of EVERY NVQ qualification?
This would surely not be too expensive once qualified aiders are available to monitor the training?
It needs an equivalent to a Jamie Oliver figure with the right common touch to raise awareness of this matter. How about Martin Lewis using his contacts to help lobby for this?
Anyone want to start the ball rolling?-it would be easy to get all of the MSE members to sign up to this surely?
I think this would be a fantastic :T idea for the kids, sign me up.
I did my first aid when I was in brownies and guides, but not all kids do that anymore, like you said a one/ two day course for schools would be brilliant.

I have just ordered a card and a diary for my sister who has epilepsy. It's a great idea, as if you've ever witnessed someone having a fit it can be very frightening if you don't know what to do, especially as there are things you shouldn't do - and hopefully this will help should she be out and have a fit.
I have to agree that these should only be ordered if you or someone you know has epilepsy.
Plus I do think basic first aid should be offered to all children, it's a very useful thing to have.0
