really is mental isn't SA? I suppose they are just better at finding it?? Bloody horrible.

    So. got fence quotes

    1. 1500 - for all wood

    2. 1210 - for all concrete gravel boards. (but this guy wanted 50% up front so no)

    3. 1710 - for all concrete AND a wall being rebuilt

It is 65 foot of fence.

It tears me up that that AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL bloody man will have a nice wall (which I won't be able to see!!!!!!!! and fence in his stupid garden and I am paying for it all but at the moment I cannot use my garden and more importantly neither the dogs or my Mum will be able to use it. The police cannot do anything without independent witnesses and he is so clever to always make sure I am alone when he has a go.

So the rational thing to do is build the fence. I will rise above this. I want to enjoy my garden and my fish pond and my rabbits if they ever get outside. And the dogs and the guinea pigs. It is worth it. I will have privacy. And if he has a go I can record his crazy rants.

(this also totally SODS up all my money plans but that is for another post...)

ooo I found jobs to apply for

It's worth if for the peace of mind it will bring.

In the mean time, get out in the garden at every opportunity and just blank him completely, take a radio or some music out with you and keep your back to him. Don't let him bully you into not using your garden but the fence is very much needed to make you and your mum feel safe.

Yeah. Says the woman who just took the dogs out the front to avoid him! Though that is more about the dogs meeting - major issues for dog two with that.

What do you reckon on the quotes??

I think the quotes are all about right, I'd go for concrete gravel boards and posts if you can, it will be more cost effective in the long run.

We were quoted £4K to replace our side fence which is about 70ft but there's a lot of digging old posts out and making good blocked paving on both sides.

Right ok, you don't know how much better you have just made me feel. You are a woman who can get shizzle done and you must have more of a clue than me.

I just didn't want to be ripped off. Thanks Pooky XXX

Anything done by tradesmen is expensive. I'd go for the best you can afford. I would also play loud music to pee off the neighbour. You really don't need this stress xx

All of FB is full of people enjoying their garden. I couldn't let the dogs out there till 8.30. He had the door open all day which means the dog can run out and start bouncing off the fence.

Instead I walked the dogs, went to work (which was good - nice kids only!) shopping which almost killed me (have done over 11,000 steps!!!! I am a little fattie who doesn't get more than 8000) got my sister's shopping and my brother in law's meds (Which took up the whole back seat of my car)

Came home, walked the dogs, had a two hour nap with the dogs and cooked my dinner (omelette, with fruit cream and meringues for dessert)

And now I am talking to you

Dogs are in the garden... best go get them..

ooo fence bloke texted to say five foot panels would be enough with a one foot gravel board. Has to be 6 foot on his side.

Other guy said 6 foot boards with shorter gravel boards (so overall a two metre fence)

thing is neighbour is taller than six foot. What do you reckon??

    been sitting here thinking...

    I owe 4500 on loan.

I have 271 on the CC (interest free for 3 months)

If I stay in my current job I can pay it off by Christmas - it is about 650 a month.

If I leave and work supply things will be financially sticky.

My original plan was to teach for two more years, spend this summer buying a house up north and begin slowly to move over to a more patchwork income. Ie - rental income, exam marking, part time job, tutoring, supply. I didn't want to be rushed into things.

Tonight I am thinking not to leave.

    review at Christmas.

I don't know where in the country you are but I'm North west and my DH is a joiner but working for a fence fitting company the last few years. Roughly £175 per section (Two 9ft posts/1 concrete base/6ft waney panel and the labour) Obviously depends on where in the country you are too.

    Take care
