Anyone flown Vietnam airlines. Shortest direct flight Heathrow in and out of Hanoi. Will have to get a multiple entry visa. Looks like it will be best value to get these flights then fly to Saigon, and Phnom Penh then back out of Hanoi. Work out at about £730.

Yes i flew to HCM with them for my Vietnam and Cambodia Holiday booked direct with them and used them for internal flights as well.

    Great airline and great food/service

Why do you need a multi entry visa? Use your 15 day visa waiver entitlement for the first visit, and then get a single entry visa for the second visit.
You can indeed do this. Single-entry eVisas are now available for visits up to 30 days, ensure you go via the official website:

I bought one recently, $25 and issued within 24 hours.

Vietnam Airlines are fine, I've flown the London to Hanoi / HCMC route recently and booked to fly with them again soon. Food and seats OK (economy) but entertainment options a bit lacking. On domestic routes it's a basic service with little leg room and no food/drink service (economy) - MAY be better on the longer Hanoi to HCMC route but I haven't flown this.

You don't have to fly back out of Hanoi, you can book multi-city and fly back from HCMC which will reduce your journey time back from PP. For the London route they fly to/from Hanoi and HCMC on alternate days. All I would say is that connecting between domestic and international at HCMC is a bit painful as you have to collect your bags, they check them through but don't transfer them. No such issue at Hanoi.
